2012 Traffic Summit

Over 100 Abington residents participated in a traffic survey. Here is an overview of the results:
The survey also included a field to allow residents to describe problems they see, as well as offer potential solutions. The top three issues were: 1. Infrastructure; 2. Pedestrian accessibility (sidewalks and bike trails); and 3. Economic development. Each of these topics had more than ten people respond.

Panel Discussions and Presentations
Officials responded to questions from those in attendance and reacted to survey results. Those in attendance included President of the Board of Commissioners Carol DiJoseph, Vice President Peggy Myers, Steven Kline, Officer Al Freed, Deputy Chief Micheal Webb, Montgomery County Planning Commission official Leo Bagley and Penn State Abington Chancellor Karen Wiley Sandler. State Rep. Madeleine Dean also spoke on the role she will play in supporting the wishes of residents. Abington Township Dir. of Economic Development Matt Lahaza also provided a presentation on traffic studies:
