Chronicle/News police reports May 19
Abington DUI … Christopher Spadaccini, 22, of Huntingdon Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving March 8 after police observed a grey Toyota Camry weaving in its lane, touching the white fog line numerous times and almost striking trash cans that lined the roadway in the area of Easton Road and Charles Street at 1:21 a.m., police said. The vehicle was stopped in the 1000 block of Edge Hill Road and police detected an odor of alcohol coming from the Spadaccini’s mouth, police said. He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood tests, police said. Tests showed his BAC was 0.147 percent and revealed he had marijuana in his system, police said.

Residents in Lower Moreland will see two new names on the ballot for the primary election May 21. In total, four candidates hope to take school board and commissioner seats.

Abington DUI … Chapell McDonald, 25, of Cherry Street, Willow Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia April 12 after a Chevrolet Malibu was stopped at a DUI checkpoint at Old York and Keith roads at 11:11 p.m., police said. Police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed remnants of marijuana on the seat, police said. Police confiscated a plastic bag containing a grinder with marijuana in it, police said. He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood tests, police said. Results showed McDonald had marijuana in his system, police said.

Abington Possession … Gregory Young, 54, of Norwood Avenue, Roslyn, was charged with possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana April 2 after police observed a blue Ford truck traveling with an expired registration, police said. Police stopped the vehicle on Norwood Avenue in Roslyn at 6:30 p.m. and found Young to be in possession of a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana, three plastic bags containing cocaine residue and two straws, which the authorities confiscated, police said.
