RMCA Supports Community Organizations
Abington Police Athletic League (PAL) presented its 8th Annual International Food Festival on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. The event was held in honor of retiring community policing officer Sgt. Dan Buckley. The event featuring over 30 restaurants & and purveyors of beers and wines and was hosted at scenic Philmont Country Club.
PAL started in the 1910s when police officers had the insight to offer positive experiences for youth that involved law enforcement. Police involvement included supervision at athletic fields, classrooms, and playgrounds. PAL engaged the children and helped to identify police officers as friends. Abington is a far better place because PAL is creating a positive activities for youth.
