    6th Annual Abington Town Hall
    Topic: “Collaboration for Innovation”
    Date: Wednesday, May 25th, 2016
Place: Penn State Abington, Sutherland Building
    Time: 6:30-7:00pm refreshments
    7:00-8:30pm meeting/presentations and discussion

Your local community came together for the 6th Annual Abington Town Hall. Our topic this year was “Collaboration for Innovation.”

At the Town Hall, your neighbors had the opportunity to hear representatives from the major civic organizations in Abington discuss how they are collaborating across the community to bring innovative solutions that improve the quality of life for Abington residents. Organizations represented were Penn State Abington, Abington-Jefferson Health and the Abington School District. Local, state and federal governmental representatives also participated, including elected officials.

Your neighbors asked questions and learned how to get involved in areas of the community where they have interest.

Much of the progress Abington has made on economic, educational and environmental factors is tracked through the STAR Communities Rating System™, which will also be introduced at the Town Hall. Although Abington Township is only a year into this program, we are close to achieving a 3 STAR rating. Only 48 communities in the US have achieved this status, and there are none in the local Philadelphia area.
